Birth Doula

The first consultation/meeting is free. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your needs and allows you to ask any questions you may have.

As your birth doula I would suggest two or three Antenatal Visits which would give us an opportunity to discuss the following:

Your pregnancy

Where you should give birth

The signs of labour starting and the progression of your labour

Breathing and relaxation techniques and positions for labour

The role of your birthing partner(s)

Monitoring

Pain relief options

Induction

Caesarean birth

What to take to hospital both for yourself and your baby

Hospital policies and procedures

Baby care and feeding

I am always contactable via phone or email, if you have any questions or thoughts you want to discuss with me and I will always do my best to provide the information you require.

I will support a mother wherever she plans to give birth whether at home, in a birth centre or in a hospital.  I have experience supporting parents having first and subsequent births, water births both at home and in hospital, twin births both natural and by cesarean, hospital inductions, forceps/ventouse births, caesarean births and VBAC's.

I can offer clients the use of a birthing pool, TENS machine and birthing ball.  I have several pregnancy and birth books which you are welcome to borrow.  I also have various aromatherapy oils which can be used during labour and birth alongside my homeopathic remedies.

I will be on 24-hour call for you from 14 days before your due date and 14 days after your due date (basically until your baby arrives!).

I offer you continuous emotional & physical support during your labour and delivery and will stay with you until you and your baby are completely settled.

After the birth, I will visit you at least once at home or in the hospital and will help with any concerns you may have over feeding and looking after your newborn baby.  My Birth package includes:-

2/3 antenatal visits
Unlimited telephone and email contact.
Labour and birth (however long)
Breastfeeding support
1/2 postnatal visits

Please call me to discuss my fees.

The areas I cover are:

Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Somerset

Postnatal Doula

As a Postnatal Doula I can offer breast feeding support and work through any other concerns you may have in the first few weeks of being a new mum. I will help you enjoy the first special days and weeks with your new baby and remove the stresses and strains of daily life so that you can enjoy your "babymoon".

I can also help take care of older children, do food shopping and also provide evening meals for you. I will also walk dogs!

A postnatal doula normally works a few hours each day during the week.  I would recommend a maximum of 4 hours a day.

I am a non-smoker and have a full clean UK driving licence.
